Was Chloe in love with Kirika? SPOILERS

I'm sorry if maybe I'm asking for something obvious here, but I always thought she was just obsessive/admiring about her. But seeing the last episodes, with the kiss and Chloe's reaction after Kirika protects Mireille... it just seems that perhaps there was more. Also, after Chloe's death, Kirika says that she (Chloe) had loved her. I know in the series it is never truly stated if Chloe is in love with her or not, so all the viewer is left with is to guess. Still, I'd like to hear other people's opinions on this, maybe with more proof (I haven't seen every episode).

IMO, yes. Although the series did not have any overt yuri content, I believe the producers have said they have no objections to fans seeing yuri overtones in the series. (IIRC, one of the volumes had an Easter Egg in it suggesting Mireille and Kirika were a yuri couple.) Chloe loved Kirika, which explains why Chloe went so berserk in episode 25, and in episode 23, "Sentiments for the Remaining Flower," Kirika wrote Mireille a letter that practically said she loved Mireille, and in episode 26, Mireille shed a tear when holding Kirika's hand to keep her from falling in the lava. There's a lot of fanfic in which the writers take it for granted that Mireille and Kirika are a couple.
