Rudolph looks too young in this one (small racks)

In the original, Rudolph had his full rack by the end of the movie. Now in this horrible CGI sequel, he's back to his spike days.

This just goes to show you what little research the producers did for this horrible movie. They got so much wrong and the continuity is out the window.

No wonder nobody ever heard of this trainwreck.

It's funny. My own 7 y/o daughter noticed the antler thing too.

I think he was "youthified" also for the Shiny New Year.

But it's strange on several counts.

He is basically an older baby deer. But he's kind of big. Note he's bigger than the "real baby" deer who want his autograph. But he's not as big as the "adults" who have full racks.

Further, Rudolph is now HUGE compared to Hermie - which as a baby, wasn't so. Of course, we're not sure if Rudolph is adult or baby in this show!

Also, note the head "elf" is now truly small like the other (non-tall) elves - he's only Hermie's height. Before he was really like a normal person, like Santa Claus.

I own it and watch it every year as part of my Christmas marathon, but it's one of the weaker links in my dozens of tapes. Actually, it just aired as part of ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas, so plenty of people have heard of it by now. One of my biggest problems with it is the very premise that after the original, Rudolph is still pained by wanting a normal nose and to be just like everyone else. Perhaps he still has moments of feeling that, but no WAY is he still saddled with it as a major emotional conflict. They just wanted him to have a personal problem to work through, and couldn't find another.

The bizarre lack of good ol' Sam the Snowman, and the fact that Rudolph and Clarice should be adults instead of their cute little younger selves again (which I'm sure they felt they had to use in order to sell this), do not help matters. The animation is very poor, and while I rather do like Hermey, Queen Camilla, the Toy Taker, and most of the other new or returning characters & songs in this, it's not worthy of more than 6 or a generous 7/10.
