2122?

There's no way this is set in the year 2122. It's actually the year 2022 in the Japanese version but the US dub says it's the year 2122. First of all, we have VCRs, modern day cars, and other technology from the late 90s/early 2000s. So it's probably set in the year 2022. 22nd century my ass!
