to be honest, i thought it was god awful..like a tleast after drumline i felt like i was entertained--after this cinematic debacle, i felt bitter and empty--

It was well done, but it was almost a play, in the way it was set. Since the set never really changes it could be done anywhere. Not like that hurts it, but it was good.

"I used to post in the Anchorman boards, but it was just too depressing."

Okay I just saw this for the first time so I'm late in replying here but I have to admit that this response:

"to be honest, i thought it was god awful..like a tleast after drumline i felt like i was entertained--after this cinematic debacle, i felt bitter and empty"

has me wondering what language it's supposed to be typed in. I mean "tleast" after drumline? Am I just too old to understand the lingo or is this simply unintelligible gibberish?

Anyway onto discussion of the movie, I was skeptical. An entire move taking place at the base of a tree in a park? But it turned out to be quite moving. I like that I wasn't in agreement with all of Murray's tactics... he's human and makes some good and some bad decisions under stress, just like we all would.

I thought it was a good movie, I dident really mind the setting. But i do think it ended a little bit quick, I would like to have seen what happened after the cops got to the scene... but thats just me...

There is a reason you found it in the 5 dollar bin. The only reason this movie is ranked so high is because no one who knows anything about movies has seen it, hence the 385 votes.
The idea for the movie was good. The acting in this movie was absolutely terrible, like as bad as the acting in "Saw" terrible. It does not help that it was extremely predictable and really had no depth. What you saw was what you got, so there is no reason to rewatch this movie.
I agree with the person that said this movie is awful.

I have to admit that the channel was switched to this movie already in play watching the main character being chased up a tree. All of us, (several workmates) watched it and we were hooked. It was a decent film!
We all were left wondering what was the name of this movie. I recognized an old schoolmate playing the lead antagonist and a few other notables (actual favourites) from Crossing Jordan and Stargate: Atlantis.
I think I might seek this movie out so I can watch it with the family...better than a lot of the stuff that was released in this year 2005!

The fact the Hewlett was in this movie initially drew me to it (mostly because he's my favourite actor), but the overall story hooked me, and now it's my favourite all-time movie.

This is ranked in my top ten of best movies.

IMO this film is underrated, maybe because of the low budget or the unknown actors.

At a first watching it is quite good. Don't know about putting it that high on repeated viewings though.

Interesting to note that when Shark said they weren't a gang, the film unravels them so that they are wannabes really who have all bought into the advertisers dream in some fashion and just aren't upto the job. When the Ravens drift through, it is a strong contrast in gang mentality between what they thought they were and what they actually are.

Everyone is suffering their own problems in this film. Everyone does in the real world too. It is our exterior behaviour that needs to be kept in check as we make our way through life.
