Lost Potential - Maintains Significance

With a decent trailer and as a huge Michelle Yeoh fan, I knew I had to see the movie Yeoh opted out of The Matrix sequels for.

I saw the intention of making a Chinese film that spoke to international audiences (having a Hollywood quality). While I can certainly appreciate the story, an appealing soundtrack, and great film locations I do wonder what this film could have been had it reached its full potential.

Unfortunately, the CGI is just too overwhelming and some of the performances from a few actors appeared immature. I enjoyed the romance and the comedic elements (especially some great lines from Roxburgh), but it didn't save the movie as a whole.

This doesn't mean the movie wasn't significant and did not touch people as part of it touched me. Yeoh stayed true to herself in making this film and seeing it, who could fault her for that? :)

Big hopes for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend!
