Why was this movie made?

Seriously.

My life would have gone on just fine without another Rush Hour, especially one that really isnt that good. While there were several funny moments (and quite a few unfunny ones, I was guessing all the French jokes, we've already heard them!), the plot was pretty dumb, which is driven home by the fact that they thought they needed to film in Paris to spice up the story. Changing location does not a good movie make. And the taxi driver? Who was that guy? Suddenly quitting his job to help two dangerous strangers and appear out of nowhere when they need an escape vehicle? Sure, I know this movie's supposed to be funny with stuff like that, but cmon, it doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

Anyway

I didn't like it either. There's so many awkward scenes and unfunny moments, the action scenes were spectacular but the story was absolutely ridiculous.

reply

I think they made this movie to entertain people, not have people complain about it. What was awkward about this movie? The fact that a black guy and asian dude can get along? Is it really "unfunny"? Or do you just have a bad sense of humor. I mean i know it was no Nickolodean cartoon...

"Ah, Snaps!"

reply

Umm, because it was a damn fine movie?

This was brilliant, on completely the same level as the first two. I thought the Eiffel Tower scene at the end was the highlight of all 3 movies!

And it was friggin hilarious! Roll on RH4!

Well, it was expected to have another installment after "Rush Hour 2" (Tucker even mentioned it on the end credits). The reason(s) why this movie failed were mainly because of the politics behind the production. Everything of which was all chronicled on this website. Chris Tucker was uncooperative because he wanted to be paid more than Jackie Chan. Tucker, who hasn't been seen in a film since "RH 2", was making such crazy demands. He even wanted more screen time and final editorial say over his character. He threatened to quit production if his demands were not met and a replacement was being searched. This movie was scheduled to have come out in the summer of '04 or '05. The production crew as well as the studio just wanted to deliver a picture to sorta "get it over with". There are already talks of a "RH 4" mainly to make us forget about this one.

Seriously though, i thought this movie rocked and it's probably the best one yet. keeps you updated with the characters and is funnier than ever. if you hated it so much then why did you even bother to go see it?

reply

Why there are so many idiots complaining about good movies. Don't you have a life ? Some friends ? You need attention ?

The movie was very good and entertaining.

i just saw it,omg it was painful to watch
chris tucker usually improvises in his movies, that was one of the reasons the other rush hours and his other movies were so successful,he clearly didnt have his heart in rush hour 3.
it was painful to watch, seriously and omg even if chris didnt do his thing,i gotta say brett ratner is a mess fo a director, omg i just got a headache thinking about the movie lol

I sincerely hope your joking, because you are a truly pathetic human being if a movie actually made your life worse because it was dissapointing. Firstly, absolutely nothing about George (the taxi driver) didn't make sense- I think you should watch the movie again if anything about his character didn't make sense.

Secondly, please tell me what was so dumb about this plot?

*beep* *beep* ! Stop your *beep* criticism !

reply

I don't think ANYONE sees Jackie Chan movies for the plot. It was an entertaining hour and a half, it did what it was supposed to do.

reply

If you were fine without another Rush Hour movie, then why did you watch it? If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I found it hilarious, maybe people didn't find it funny because they didn't get the jokes. (or maybe they're not as crazy as me)

And, why is any movie made? There's really no point to any movie, except the odd one, other than for entertainment.

reply

Well, as hard as this may be for you to believe, you're not the sole reason bret ratner, or anyone else for that matter, makes a movie.

So what if you're life could've gone fine without it, if it's really that big of a deal to live in a world with another rush hour, you need a hobby.

I liked the movie, even though the plot derived EXACTLY from rush hour one and two, it has the element that you either appreciate, or not.
Jackie chan has always been one of my favorite actors, and his pre.formance in the movie was great. Although i dont care for chris tucker i found him to be quite funny in this one.

Just so i dont come off as someone like you, let me say this is MY opinion.
Im not trying to shove it down anyones throat, but i think it's very ignorant to bash a movie based on you're own personal preference
