An Alternate Phantom

Has anyone else ever thought of what Erik might've been like had he actually been raised like the human being he is by his mother instead of hated and rejected? A man with all his talents…he could've been loved all over the world!

Just a thought I've been having recently. ^_^;

Why don't you explore that idea more and write a fan fiction about it?

The Kay novel barely touches that idea.

I haven't read her novel yet, and I've started Leroux's but haven't finished it yet. As such, I really don't feel like I'm the right person who is worthy enough to write such a story. I *DO* write, but mine is mostly romantic/action type stuff. My current "Phantom" story is about him falling for my original character instead of Christine, and it takes place a few months BEFORE and DURING the movie, and then goes into my second installment, which is COMPLETELY different. In fact, the ending to the first story is WAY different than the movie, and to be honest, some Phans may not like it very well.

Nevertheless, I feel like someone else should write a story pertaining to the idea of Erik being raised in love instead of in hate. I just wanted to get some peoples' opinions on it.

Utter nonsense, everyone is worthy of writing, especially if you love a character. If only just for yourself. Do it. My current story I am writing was not particularly well received by my audience, but I still want it so bad, I am still writing it, if only just for me to ever finish reading.

Post it on Fan Fiction and get some views there, if no one likes it, then its their loss.

Well, thanks for the vote of confidence. Maybe I'll write it someday. :) Right now, I've got my hands full with my other two stories.

Yes, he could have done much good and brought much happiness to others. These are vital lessons to all of us to be kind to others, to look at what they are inside instead of what appears on the outside that really doesn't represent the real person. Also we must not let our fears of someone, whether their appearance or actions frighten us so much that we do not look behind those things to try seeing person behind them and maybe be more understanding towards them.
