if by 'surprise ending' you mean the whole 'this-movie-IS-the-video-game' thing then i have to say that it was so predictable it's not even worthy of being called a twist/surprise

But the story's ending is so stupid that It would never cross my mind

WHAT!!!!????

Is this a soap opera or a horror film.

and whats with the St. John's Wart?
and where exactly do the mumified children come into play if 'Naomi' is the model?
What the hell did I just watch?

I have such a love/hate relationship with Jap Horror films, and this movie is a perfect example of why.

All this build up just to leave me with a bunch of creepy images and a million questions.
I even broke down and watched the dubbed version thinking maybe i missed something and dumbing down the movie woulkd help... alas, this only turned it into a comedy.

My brain hurts.

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. I watched it twice and had to take a break because my mind was about to explode from all of the little plot holes. I'm still hoping that the answers to these questions. I think they were trying to cash in more on shock value rather than the plot at times.
