A surfing movie that actually has a story

How many "endless summer" movies can a person take? I was at my limit when I saw this film. It was so refreshing to see a good plot mixed in with the surf footage.

The lifeguard stand is a beach called "Free" Zuma.
Zuma beach, south end, some call Westwards.
