'Possibility' by Thomas Newman??

The song "Possibility" by Thomas Newman (from "Pay It Forward") is played at around the 21 minute mark or so when Skeet is getting ready to go surfing. Does anyone know why it isn't listed in the song credits? I find it HIGHLY suspect that he would give permission for that song to be used. Just wondering.
