vincent gallo talk show host

this wasn't a very good movie. i think this was one of the many movies gallo did just for money to fund his own movies as a director. (brown bunny IS a good film). there were a couple funny parts like the part where he argues with the prostitute "i'm gonna PAY you to shut up" and the whole scene where he argues with cox outside her apartment window" but there many scenes and characters that were poorly written and i can forgive most of the implausibilities of the film cause it's just a silly romantic comedy. the one implausibility i can't get over is vincent gallo being able to be a late night talk show host.

no television station, except for something like hbo, would give that kind of job to someone who looked and acted like vincent gallo. his show in the movie is clearly supposed to be like a show carson, letterman, leno or o'brien would do. late night talk show hosts have to be nonthreatening and warm and friendly. now i and a lot of other people think vincent gallo is an attractive man but a lot of people also think willem dafoe is attractive as well. that doesn't change the fact the majority of square americans think both of those men are "scary looking". now i don't think that gallo is bad in the film, he can be good in bad films (freeway 2 anyone?) but he doesn't seem all that committed to the idea of his role.

I think Vincent Gallo has a very gentle pleasant beautiful face. Also those "silly romantic comedies" you speak of are actually a valid art form that millions of people enjoy. Remember comedy/tragedy, both valid sides of the same coin. I think maybe you're being a little "square" in not giving it a chance.

Thank you, but this movie is *beep*

Interesting. I bought it for a dollar off AmaZon solely for Vincent Gallo.

Couldnt agree with you more.
The only reason i have seen this movie is Gallo's appearance in it. I did'nt think he fits the role that they gave him, or maybe he did'nt want to fit the role. Maybe.. and i'm being crazy.. I did'nt want him to fit the role. Becuase actualy i was shocked when i saw that he is starring in a comedy movie with Cox. I realy think that it's just one of those i-need-some-money-to-my-own-movies kinda movies.

All that is laft for us,Gallo lovers, is to wait to his next amazing movie, which i hope will be soon.

"brown bunny IS a good film"

I dont know, i bought it and had to turn it off after 25 minutes because nothing happened. I guess i'm obligated to watch the other portion before i make an opinion...i love vincent gallo, but i wasn't sure where the film was going.

Buffalo '66 is my favorite film.

I have to change my opinion.

I finally watched the rest of Brown Bunny, and it is in fact a good movie.

I only say this because the ending is just a really good idea. If you want to watch this movie kind of fast forward through the beginning stuff until you get to the hotel scene.

I think this movie would have been respected a lot more if it was cut down to about a 25-30 minute movie. A short film version could have been it's best choice of success.

Gallo as a talk show host is unfathomable. He doesn’t come off as that type of personality. Having said that, I think he should be glad he made this film. It gives his audience a chance to say a different side of him.
