Face Region 1 dvd Letterboxed Wrong? Picture stretched

Has anyone seen the new face dvd? I just purchased it and upon viewing it it seemed to be stretched making everyone look a little wide and short. It was very annoying, I couldn't even watch the movie. Did some research on the company's website, it say's that the film should be in the 1:85 ratio. Which it is not it is in the 2:35 ratio making the film look stretched when it shouldn't. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. Called the company also and they said they would look into it and get back to me about it.

It was stretched on the Netflix DVD of "Face" too.

My Netflix copy was fine....??

I wonder if some DVD players have some kind of automatic correction for Region differentiation problems...

yes the distributors Indican Pictures/2k4 did indeed release "Face" dvd in the wrong aspect ratio. if you check out the international releases (eg. Blockbuster's in Taiwan) or the domestic cable broadcasts (eg. on Sundance Channel or Starz Encore) you'd see the movie in its correct 1:1.85 format.

I was sent a new copy plus another movie from the studio when I brought it to their attantion. I haven't opened it to see if it was corrected but I was told it was.
