... for judy davis to handle a pure and raw, natural talent like River Phoenix. Since she was formally trained, she must have had her own limitations where it was beyond her comprehension to understand this kind of talent. I wonder if she was harboring a hidden resentment, a jealousy toward him to the point where she felt the need to belittle him. And as a result, River, being completely gracious, discussed taking a break to work in plays for the experience. As if he needed it ...

Maybe someday, judy davis will get off her high horse and stop taking herself so seriously ... and maybe people will actually admire her.

I know you wrote this several years ago, but I agree 100%. After learning how she treated him, I refuse to ever watch a film she was in unless it's footage (or in the unlikely event they finish this one somehow) of Dark Blood.
