HOW VIOLENT IS THIS MOVIE?

I have seen plenty of prison movies, and I was reffered this one. I was wondering how violent this movie is, because I don't want to watch just another boring prison movie.

there are some very gory scenes.

a man dumps a vat of boiling liquid on his friend while he's sleeping and kills him. It isn't shown, but the sound effects are disturbing.

a man is tied up and graphically stabbed by the other inmates one after another.

in flashbacks there are realistic looking shooting scenes.

During the long climax, there are lots of people getting shot and blown up. These scenes are extremely bloody, with blood coating the walls and floors. The blood splattering out of the victems looks real too.

these are the ones that come to mind. there may be more, but i don't remember the film that well.

It's not a boring prison movie, believe me. But it's not a violent one either, in my own perspective. I was expecting more bloodshed, and more sex if I may say (but not even a single bust have I seen!), but there were little of those.

"I was expecting more bloodshed"

Jesus, the final scenes in the film show actual rivers of blood on the prison floor, was that not enough?

Last film watched:
Carandiru by Hector Babenco - 8/10

Well, not good enough. I liked more that scene from Apocalypse Now (1979) where Capt. Willard "chopped" Col. Kurtz to death. Also, when the tribe cut the water buffalo's head. My hair raises everytime I remember those scenes.

I found the most violent scene to be the stabbing of Zico.
