was this Marisa Tomei in the opening sex scene ??? !!! ???

i mean if it was Marisa, why we do not see her face during the sex scene- we just see her face after the sex scene- and if it was a body double then this is the reason we do not see her face...

and is there anyone read or saw interview for Marisa or philip seymour hoffman or even Sidney Lumet himself?

reply

YES IT WAS MARISA !

reply

are you sure ???
did you read or saw anything Marisa said about that scene?

i went to see INCEPTION 5 times... !!!

reply

Yes Marisa said that many times and so did Lumet,Hoffman and Hawke. She's also naked in The Wrestler.

reply

so why she did not show her face during the scene ???
because it looks like that a body double made that scene.

i went to see INCEPTION 5 times... !!!

reply

You know they weren't actually having sex right..

reply

hema666 might be right! There are various rumors of actual sex taking place during filming going back many years. In Don't Look Now (1973) Donald Sutherland and co-star Julie Christie are said to have engaged in unsimulated intercourse during their characters' sex scene. They were under the covers, and there is a moment (which the British government required to be deleted from the version released there) which strongly suggests a transition from simulation to actuality.

Other movies leave no doubt at all. The fabulous Kristine DeBell of Meatballs fame, once the most beautiful girl in the movies (some say) performs a loving, innocent act of real fellatio in Alice in Wonderland (1976). Chloe Sevigny does the same to Vincent Gallo, her then boyfriend in The Brown Bunny (2003). And Caligula (1979) is filled with all kinds of unsimulated sex, although none by stars Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren, Peter O'Toole or Sir John Gielgud.

And then there was Anna Nicole Smith, who was in the middle of a photo shoot in which she was nude in a large bubbly bathtub when a real pizza boy arrived. He was a hunk, she told him to strip, he joined her in the tub and the rest of the crew reported that there was no doubt at all about what went on before their very eyes.

Yup, that BJ scene in The Brown Bunny was definitely real. I remember being really shocked when I heard about it. And don't forget that some people still question if Mickey Rourke & Lisa Bonet were really going at it in that sex scene from Angel Heart. It was definitely Marisa, OP, she said it was her. That opening scene was pretty damn hot.

Mickey Rourke is said to have engaged in real sex on screen also with his co-star (and then-wife, I think, I don't remember her name) in Wild Orchid.

I remember watching that scene thinking, wow that looks very real. And how Philip Seymour Hoffman could do that without have a rock hard boner getting in the way, (because he was smashing her bigtime), is beyond me. It was probably the heroin he was on that was screwing up his libido

It is a hot scene.

Bump.

That was a hot scene.

Hoffman lucked out there.

It's that man again!!

Its not her in the long shot -- we never see her face. Body double.

But there is a quick cut to PSH collapsing onto the REAL Tomei as she falls face down onto her pillow. A nice cut.

There's another movie from the 2000's with a similar gimmick:

In "Bad Santa" (2003), Billy Bob Thornton twice has sex with the actress from The Gilmore Girls, Lauren Graham(he's in his Santa suit both times, she has a Santa sex fetish), but both times, the woman's hair(a wig?) keeps us from seeing her face.

However, in both movies, I'm pretty sure that Tomei and Graham's VOICES are real during the sex scenes (with Graham's lusty "F me, Santa!" over and over again, a comedy standout.)

And Tomei was willing to go topless quite a bit and show some nudity (without the strenuous sex moves) elsewhere in the scene and the movie.

..which nicely prepared her to play a stripper the next year in "The Wrestler."
