Casting a hypothetical Alpha Centauri movie

OK, here we go: if someone were to, hypothetically speaking, license Sid Meier for the rights to an Alpha Centauri movie, who would you pick to play the seven faction headliners?

My humble contribution, to start things off:

Deirdre Skye (Gaia): Lauren Graham
Yang (Human Hive): Malcolm McDowell
Zakharov (University): Christopher Walken
Morgan: Who else? Morgan Freeman
Santiago (Spartans): Catherine Zeta-Jones
Miriam (Believers): hmm, tough one. Cate Blanchett?
Lal (Peacekeepers): Erick Avari (Stargate)

Any others want to pick up this thread?

Cool thread; my ideas...

Lal: Ben Kingsley
Santiago: Michelle Rodriguez
Zakharov: Sharlto Copley
Domai: Callum Keith Rennie
Yang: Robin Shou (kind of stretching it)
Skye: Eva Green
Roze: Jada Pinkett Smith
Aki Zeta-5: Naomi Watts

And if they choose to include Captain Garland as an on-screen character, my vote is for Patrick Stewart. In the future, starship captains will be BALD!

If they do make a movie, it would be all but impossible to do it based on the civilizations being etched out. I think they should base it on the Unity pre-Chiron. They should shoot it from the point of view of each leader, and then have their world's cross during the Unity's trip. In essence, there will be two halves of the movie. Make one part where we get to meet the leaders, and the other part should be when they awaken to find the Unity in chaos. It would be anti-climatic since there would be no shot post Chiron landing, but it's a thinking man's game so I guess the fanbase will be small :D.

As for the cast, I really don't care who will be playing the parts since they are all simple characters, simple as in they are over-the-top and based on a single ideology, so big time actors won't be needed. Considering that, though, I still have a few thoughts as to who can play some of the leaders:

C.E.O. Morgan: Djimon Hounsou
Brother Lal: Alexander Siddig
Zakharov: Russell Crowe
Yang: Chow Yun Fat
Miriam: Tilda Swinton

Maybe the storyline is too big for a movie. I would be more enthusiastic if they made it into a television series. With how good budgeting T.V. series get today, I believe they could make an awesome series.
