Taylor Wane to host "Wild On...?"
What! we can hear the fans of adult films in general and Taylor Wane (sometimes spelled Wayne) in particular saying! OK, we really don't think it's gong to happen, but she apparently sent in an audition tape! A couple of days ago we caught a bit of one of their recent "Wild On... Wants You" series that has been showcasing hopefuls looking take over the hosting duties being vacated by Brooke Burke. (This one featured a visit to the Kentucky Derby.) Before commercial breaks, they were showing brief clips from various audition tapes as "bumpers." One of them featured a striking blonde in a white bikini who didn't say a word, but just posed in profile, then slowly turned and posed looking straight into the camera. The attitude conveyed was, words aren't necessary, you can see the goods, isn't this what you want? The woman looked familiar. That big blonde hair, those big boobs, those full lips...When she looked dead-on into the camera, there was no doubt about it--it was our girl Taylor!
Like we said, we don't expect Taylor's got any kind of shot at hosting the show. Although E! has far away led all the other networks in recognizing that porn and porn stars exist and deserve to be treated with some respect, and even though they've boldly used such stars in the past as Jenna Jameson (a lot!), Serenity (a good bit), Stephanie Swift, Temptress and others for on-camera mainstream duty, a porn star still has that stigma attached to her and it would be a tough sell in a lot of ways. Besides, even though Taylor has had a long and distinguished career in the business, she isn't the most recongized star in the firmament, and she's a little over what we would guess is the preferred age for the host's job in the demographic-conscious world of television. Still, at 34, we must say she looked mighty fine and is "aging" most, most gracefully!
So it's too bad that the old boob tube won't have the fabulous Ms. Wane on it as a "regular" performer. Honestly, we don't know how good she would be in the job, but can you imagine that they will hire anyone who could live up to the show's name and spirit better than Taylor, who has, needless to say, has done things in virtually every one of her dozens of films that are much, much, MUCH wilder than anything you'll ever see on E! She also has that English accent so many of us find so sexy, not to mention the rest of the package. Oh well, we can dream about what could have been. We just wanted to let you know about this intriguing porn star sighting.
