6 mill. salary for sam but no U.S. release,Why??

I just read about this movie for the first time.
It was rather made for tv or so dissapionting that despite paying jackson 6 mill.$ the producers decided not to drop it in to the cinema in america.
Does anybody know what happened there?

reply

I would guess it's because the movie was so bad and a theatrical release would have lost the company another few million.

reply

Ahem, Well, I actually saw it in theaters when it was released and recall seeing a TV spot here and there, but it was very underground and the theater i saw it at was in the middle of no where. But I did infact see it in theaters.

The movie wasn't really all that bad, but it DOES fell more like a TV production. Not something worthy of a cinema release.

reply

I thought it was really good. Very engaging the whole way through.

Not sure what Jackson was paid but it had a low budget crime noir feel with a limited cinema release and then DVD and pay TV.

Its that man again!!
