THANK YOU!!! He really pissed me off.
That was even a disservice to himself.

Maybe because Erin was an accessory to kidnapping, burglary and several murders? She wasn't exactly an innocent little lamb in all the goings on.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

lol

Good answer, good answer.

I think if she'd turned in the money, he wouldn't have had her arrested for the deaths & kidnapping. He was an honest cop, so he wasn't going to take the money, and he wasn't going to let her take it. I think he was giving her a chance to do the right thing, and hoping she'd take it.

He was doing the right thing.
Everybody else pays but she gets away with it, no he couldn't allow that.

He makes it clear throughout he's not corrupt. It's also obvious that she's manipulative and will do/say anything to her advantage - these wouldn't be her last crimes. The title should be a clue as well. No good deed goes unpunished. He knew there'd be consequences if he didn't do the right thing. And anyway it WAS the right thing. She's a criminal. Just because he finds her charming is no reason to let her go.

They'd agreed he already repaid her for saving his life, besides which not killing him hardly makes her some hero. It just means she's not a worse criminal than she already is.

She was no innocent.

It was made obvious that she only saved the cop's life with the insulin because she wanted him to kill the other bad guys for her, after which she would kill him.

That particular plan failed.

She then went back to her original plan to have the young blond guy kill the mastermind. That failed too, almost ending up with the cop being killed as a direct result of her scheming.

Once the young blond guy was dead, she tried again to get the cop to kill the mastermind. This was NOT because she had suddenly reformed, and wanted the cop to foil the crime. It was because she wanted all the money to herself (once she had later killed the cop).

My opinion is that he was just thinking it over, and was considering letting her go.

I'd prefer it if he was playing cat and mouse with her at the end to teach her that other people could be just as tricky as her. ie that he knew that he would have her picked up just when she thought she was getting away.

Although, like others have said, it is possible that she half got to him. It is possible that she manipulated him enough to make him think that there was the possibility that she would go straight, and so he gave her the chance to do so.
