It's About Time

It's good to know we can actually see the OTHER side of the Castro debate. This doc has been called 'propaganda'. Is that somehow unusual? There have been countless docs and editorial material about how evil Castro is. A perfect example is 1987's 'Nobody Listened' by Nestor Almendros, which is about as one-sided (on the OTHER side) as you can get. Castro is obviously not without original sin, but the fact that he is revered by millions of Cubans tells me that there has to be SOMETHING redeemable about the man.

SOMETHING redeemable about the man.

It's more of a retrospect when he seemed like that to Cuba as a whole while overthrowing Batista. What is left redeemable in him is that he has a charisma that no one can take away, specially to those who know little of his work.

You obviously don't live in Cuba because Cubans aren't allowed to use the internet. To say that he is "revered by millions of Cubans" is completely inaccurrate considering that there are plenty of people in the country that despise him (my relatives for instance) and over a million people have fled the island since his ascent (out of a population of 11 million people).

This movie was nothing but a propoganda piece by a Castro apologist with no clue about how the Cuban government actually functions. I'm willing to bet that no one involved with the production of this documentary lives im Cuba.
