Impossible technology?

Burke explained Ice 9 as a virus that can infect computers through a power cable... I've read that it's possible to transmit data across power lines but I didn't think a computer could process that data through a power cable. True?

Also, the bio-bug seemed a little improbable; it can pick up and transmit audio and video through something the size and thickness of a small round band-aid?

I also thought it was funny that Burke shot the laptop screen, which would not prevent the laptop from running.

Yea unless they made power supplies that interface with data IO on the motherboard that isn't possible with today's pcs.

It's theoretically possible. If that's what you're asking. Power and data are all just electrons moving across a medium (fiber, coax, twisted pair, copper, etc). It doesn't exist as far as we know right now though.

Are you not entertained?!

reply

Well we do have the ability to have LANs based only on powercircuits... so I guess we're there.
It just seems bleak with most of the network that will be either WiFi (so unsecure) or rj45..

I think that was the point. Burke "introduced" him to new and different technology that the world hadn't hear of at that point.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!
