is there anyone else really hating nick?

Hey there!
I’ve been watching McLeods daughters since I was 13. Last year I somehow rediscovered the show again and I remembered my 13year old me not liking Nick at all. After rewatching it with nearly 30 now, I was surprised discovering that I still just don’t like him. My mother tongue is German and I watched the show in German, maybe it’s just some kind of bad synchronisation but I don’t know...he is just so annoying. He is ALWAYS offended and acts like a prima donna. He behaves like a defiant child whenever there is something not really going his way. But to me, it seems as if the show always wants to convey the message that he is such a good guy.
Running off to Sally and getting her pregnant after Dave returned without really talking to Tess before is such a childish defiant and manipulative behaviour- especially, and I rewatched that part again to make sure got it right, they were actually already together! And this is by far not the only example for his manipulative behaviour.
So is this just me or is there anyone else being really annoyed by Nick?
