I've been thinking lately about a McLeods reboot, starting from season nine and onwards. I personally think it would be really successful and the fans would love it. However, since the show has been gone for about 7 years now, I think it's appropriate for a time-jump.

Season nine would start 5 years in the future, where Tess and Nick have moved back to Drover's Run after missing it too much. Jodi and Matt currently live in the house alongside them with their daughter, Claire. Meg and Terry have reunited and are currently living in a house that Terry built himself. Stevie is helping to run the farm alongside Tess, they have gotten close again despite being edgy with eachother. Stevie has finally accepted that Alex is dead and reveals she is ready to move on. Regan is living in the workers quarters alongside Moira - they formed a nice friendship with eachother over the years. Grace is missing Marcus after he moved away to be with Ingrid, she has grown bitter because of this. Tayler and Patrick left immediately after the events of season 8 to be with Dave. Jaz and Ben have also gotten married and moved away. Phil can be seen popping up sometimes, he still remains a villain, but will always have a soft spot for Moira.

I forgot about Charlotte (Claire's daughter). She was born in 2003, so she must be 13 now, which means high school so there could be a couple of storylines involving her antics at school and missing her mother.
Rose (Stevies daughter) might also still be at the farm, she could be the new Becky of the revival as she would be in her early 20s by now!

They don't have to be main characters, but there is some room for good story-telling.

Down the line, I would also like Kate to return to Drover's Run as she was a fan favourite and could easily return. I'm thinking her character could move back in halfway through season 10? There are lots of characters who could return, but Kate would be at the top of my list. As for any new characters... I wouldn't want anyone else to show up out of nowhere, apart from a couple of minor character arcs, I don't want any new characters.
Because a lot of the originals would be back, I would want it to feel like classic McLeods. Which means a lot of sentiment and hardly any soap opera-esque plot lines. Let that die with season 7 and 8.

I love the idea about Charlotte running away to Aunt Tess's house BUT their biggest obstacle in rebooting the series on Drovers is that the Farm house and land were bought by a bed and breakfast and is an active business. But with it being a B&B is not all bad news...you can now stay there as a guest.

You can stay in Megs cottage for as little as $630 Au a night or stay in one of the other bedrooms in the main house (they are suites now) for as little as $430 Au.

So, we will probably never get a reboot but if you play your cards right, you could live on Drovers for a night or two :)

yeah gr8 idea.possible but we don't see reboot tv series and even if they do they don't do good. x files and fuller house recent ones i remember.anyways i would love to see drovers run again in any which way.btw i am watching this series again 😘

Haha. Same here, after getting all those replies on my IMDb topic page, it got me intrigued to watch the show. It also inspired me to think of this reboot show. I think it would be amazing, but I know the creator wants to leave the show as it is unfortunately. Which is a shame because it has really good potential.

I've only seen the first three seasons so maybe I'm not an authority but I've read spoilers.

I've always wondered what kind of life Charlotte would lead with Peter and his family. Although I'm sure Peter would love her and be well meaning, it seems like she would be the odd person out in the family. Maybe a teenage Charlotte is upset at that and runs away to her aunt Tess.

I loved Becky and was disappointed to hear that she never appeared or was even referred to again. Do you think she could make some appearances? I'd be happy with her only making appearances because I think she moved on beyond being a ranchhand at Drover's Run.

I think there could be lots of possibilities for Becky to return, she's always been a favourite character of mine and it seems like such a waste to not bring her back - even for just a few episodes!!! Haha. And I like your idea about Charlotte too, maybe she could have this storyline where she wants to stay with Tess but Pete doesn't want her to live with them, but in the end he lets her go so that she can be happy.

Has the writer of McLeod's daughter's anything in mind.. Some storyline she wants to continue with as I remember this story remained with her for years until it was made a tv series. So it's her favorite story.

I really hope she has something in mind, I REALLY do. We all do, if she chooses to do nothing with the show I will be really sad, it has SOOO much potential to continue with the story. All we can do is pray that she rediscovers her passion for the show. I remember emailing her once, asking if a revival would ever be possible. She replied to me. I can't remember what she wrote but I can look for the email again if you want?

wow..gr8...i will check her website and pass on my wish too.you know even if the main cast can't return just do something with the story.look at anne of green gables..so many movies and series out of it.

I know! The story just has to grow, I feel that it just needs closure. So much was left unsaid throughout the seasons. What happened to Becky and Kate? Did they ever find closure with their lost loved ones? Did Tess and Nick really have their happy ending? What is Charlottes life like now? Has Stevie stopped her grieving? Did Jodi, Meg and Matt move back into Drover's Run? I just HAVE to know haha. Even a special 90 minute special movie that could answer a lot of questions would be amazing!
