Strong ending

I found the ending, with the long drive followed by a flashback to be very effective, making the viewer feel Chen's pain.
agreed. The ending is very powerful in a soft way,and i think the music really highlights the whole story, though it is not made specially for the movie. But i do recommend you read the original novel in chinese, the monologue by handong at the end of the novel is overwhelmingly touching :)
