Casting

Am I the only one who had trouble with several aspects of casting in this film? First of all, I would have cast someone else as the President...Bill Pullman made kind of a wimpy President. Mary McDonnell looked about ten years older than he did in her role as the First Lady. I also wasn't crazy about Judd Hirsh playing Jeff Goldblum's father...Hirsh seemed a little too young for the role though he does play the role with sincerity. And the casting of Will Smith in the lead just sort of comes off as "stunt" casting in an attempt to increase box office receipts. The name of his character is a clue IMO that the role had originally been written for someone else.
