maybe it's just me or is it just blatantly obvious

Am I the only one who enjoyed the movie, but felt a tremendous sense of deja vu? "The Magnificent Seven", perhaps? Or, maybe the original, "Seven Samurai", by Kurosawa?
Maybe there was something mentioned that was to be understood by the viewer that I missed.
