Farrell, Garner, Affleck, Smith

This episode was hilarious. At first it seemed like Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell were bored because they didn't speak for like ten minutes. Overall the episode was funnier than most others I've seen.

If you have something to confess, do it now, give yourself some peace...

I don't know about being "bored", but they seemed to be in the background more, probably because of the strong personalities of Affleck, Smith, and Favreau, while at the time, Farrell and Garner were still newer to show business.

I agree that this is far and away the best episode of D for 5. I happen to be fans of all 5 people involved, but laugh for laugh, this episode is just as funny as any sitcom on tv right now.

I saw that episode when it first came out. I thought then that Garner was totally flirting with BA, wondered if they had more going on on the set.

Smith is doing the next I belive with Himself, Mark Hammill, Jason Lee, Stan Lee and J J Abrams.

I agree with you she was flirting it up with Ben big time. Sticking up for him way too much while Smith was just joking with him. I think he was with JLO at the time...I could be wrong though.

was he with j.lo at the time?

Wow, look at me. I'm not even listening to a word you're saying.

I know. Jennifer Garner couldn't even seem to take a joke. What's her problem?

I thought Smith's mocking of Ben Affleck's sex life extremely funny, "Bring in four!"

But since it's 2006, and we know that they made little Afflecks, we know why Garner was such a bitch. She had her eye on the prize.

S h i t. That was lame.

Not sure, but she infamously and rudely and incorrectly corrected Conan O'Brien during an interview and did not respond well when he corrected her:

If you are a Kevin Smith fan, we all know how much he makes fun of Affleck. At first when you watch this, you kind of feel he is ganging up on Ben. But obviously, Smith is one of those people who pick on people he is genuinely fond of. And when he does want to piss someone off, he usually can figure out exactly what to say and how to say it (see his fab fued with Tim Burton-who KS has said is a great inspiration to him as a director, but said something the wrong way and Burton began a media fued because he felt Smith was putting him down).

Hey, Smith makes fun of Affleck in his own movies. See "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back", the whole scene of them shooting "Good Will Hunting II: Hunting Season" is hysterical. And Affleck is joining right in-wonder what the inside joke about him and hookers could be?

I don't think Jennifer Garner was used to Smith's relationship with Ben at that point and really thought he was being too harsh. And, considering her subsequent marriage to Affleck and immediate baby-making, she was hot for him.

lol kinda interesting becuase when you look back, at that time, he was dating j.lo and she was married to scott foley when they filmed this..

reply

And yet she was so protective of him . . . Someone was harbouring latent feelings.
