This was the first French movie that i saw and i absolutely loved it. I loved the aspect of having 2 sides of the story and i thought the ending was very clever and witty, although i won't spoil the ending for those who haven't seen it. If you haven't seen it, go out and rent it, it's a great movie.
Me too! i fell in love the first time i saw it and i've seen it 3 times and it took me so long to find it to buy it! i ended up getting it from online, but its worth it! amazing direction on it. i love the whole rewind in the middle!
when i could afford digital cable and was suffering from insomia one night(still have the insomia, no more digital cable) I saw this movie. I think I watched 2 or 3 times after that. For some reason I've been wanting to see it again recently and couldn't think of the name of it for nothing in the world. But thanks to message boards, someone else knew what movie I was speaking of and now I can add it to my Netflix list...
Great movie...and the twist in the end was awesome. the her side and his side. Too bad I'm the only one of my friends that like foreign movies. So many of them or so much more deeper than American/Hollywood films. Guess that's why I'm so addicted to Bollywood/Indian films now too.
It is just so good. My roommate and I rent it as a random (we've decided to watch a french movie every week) and I just fell in love with it. It's such a great concept, and the ideas are so great, everyone should see it. And the way it's filmed, how the movie's directed, everything is just perfect!!!
Yes, I loved it too. I love foreign films, they are so much more in every way than what hollywood spurts out every year. Oh, and I just adore bollywood movies!!!
I really liked it, but the DVD cover totally gave away the twist. It really shouldn't quote Fatal Attraction and Play Misty For Me on the back, cos then you know the affair isn't quite as it seems. Dampened the twist somewhat, but still was a really good film.
i first heard of it when my friend came into class one day and said, "omg, i watched this audrey tautou movie and she reminded me of you. oh and she's totally psycho."
i watched. and i loved it. the ending was the best part.
I think this is on the top 5 best movies of all time, maybe because Hollywood has been bombarbing us with crappy remakes. (SPOILER FOLLOWING, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT, PLEASE STOP!!!)
When I saw this movie, She made me hate the damn doctor, man oh man, did I reel in my seat when it started to rewind, I mean its like to movies in one. It just gets more interesting every second. The rewind should be a Classic Movie Scene. America, I mean, All America, north to south, pay attention to this movies, so money is invested in tnis films and not rocky XI, or Dukes of Hazzard III, etc. Peace.
I just saw the dvd recently and thought what a great film. So cleverly made with the rewind and the ending just made me smile! I had the doc all wrong too...a satisfying film and i liked the way they used that music on the answermachine!
I love this movie, it fascinated me. Audrey Tatou makes lots of different kinds of movies, and plays some very different parts, but they are all so interesting and unusual. I am thinking particularly of Amelie and Dirty, Pretty Things.
"I hate quotations, tell me what you know." Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I know guys! I saw this movie earlier TODAY in French class and loved it! Normally, I would go to sleep during a movie in class, but on this one I just couldn't! At first I thought Loic was a butthole, but then...... I wanna see where I can buy it. The end part was funny, where she was trying to run from the gaurds and when the janitor found her pills and didn't think anything of it. That movie was flippin' awesome!!!!
this movie was the best exploration of narative i have seen in a long time, if anyone can suggest any other films like this not neccesarily french just anything with an anti-narative please give me a shout it would be much apreciated:)
I thought it was excellent and very unexpected. I love how innocent she is throughout the entire film despite the fact that she is completely psycho. Such a conflicting character... love it!
I thought about your janitor comment and I remember someone saying that it was a mistake of the film because the janitor should alert the authorities that this girl is nowhere recovered. But I now understand what the director conveyes in this scene. In the early days of pshychiatry (is it spelled right?), mental patients were treated only better than animals. In Nazi germany, exterminated. I hink this is reflected in the attitude of the janitor removing the pills. He just doesn't give a ... about it. Its just another loony passing by those rooms. I would like to read comments?
I really enjoyed this film. We watched it today in a French class, and I really got into it but I missed some of the mid-section due to a fire drill..I did see about 75% of it though and really liked what I saw.
I've got a jar of dirt, and guess what's insiiiide it! Ticky ticky eunuchy snip snip! Norrington Fever!
That's because the guy removing the art she made with the pills is just someone cleaning her room after she left the asylum... Not a doctor. He doesn't know anything about what it could mean...
I loved this movie. I've had some experience with patients who are suffering from delusional disorder, and this illness manifests itself exactly how the movie portrayed it.
I watched this movie the past two days in my French class, and holy cow. Definitely best movie I've ever had to watch at school. It freaked me out though. Awesome story line, and not nessicarily something you'd see in the US. Very awesome
