The ending of this film made me angry.

The fact that she hadn't been taking her pills and that she's still completely nuts pissed me off greatly. Also the fact that we never got to see what happened to Angelique's friend (his name is escaping me), the one who was in love with her, after she's sent off to the psychiatric ward. Grr! Otherwise a good film, though.

I wasn't angered, but I was confused by the fact that if she had been faking it, and hadn't been taking her meds, how would she even be able to fake saying that she did indeed have a disorder and she invented the love affair in her head? If she was still sick, wouldn't she still be adamantly denying that she had an illness and that the doctor really did love her?

She's crazy, but she's not stupid. She was just saying what the doctor wanted to hear in order to leave the hospital. So she still believes in the love affair, she just pretends that she is sane.
