i saw the user rating and watched the movie yesterday and i didn't disapoint, i even had a nice time watching it. i love Mediterranean culture, people, the way they live and food. and this movie gives nice clues about these. for sure it deserves more than 3.6!
I agree ... it's not that bad to receive 3.6. Probably Guy Richie's fans had different expectations and were too disapointed and gave such low marks. I'm also a Guy Ritchie fan, but this is just a very different type of movie. Not a great movie, but makes you think about some aspects in life (how money lose value in such situations, how the social scale is completly turned over) and that is always good. With different actors and rewritten dialogs it could have been a great movie.
d'you know, if this movie didn't star madonna and mr italian dude, i'm sure it would have been excellent.. i thought this movie had very interesting themes (how women are being spoilt, and need to be handled ... more in a caveman way..how women actually enjoy being nurturing to their man and are losing their roles slowly slowly in our society) also it was quite violent! all that swearing and slapping around unfortunately (in my opinion) mr richie decided on a high exposure (everything's so bright!) nicely shot movie with his wife and some dude seemed more like a rich man's project with his wife than anything else still...it filled in my night did anybody get a flashback of Three... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377309/
This movie is not as bad as some real smelly turds I've seen. Having said that it's still badly made. The rating is well deserved... possibly even slightly generous. I kinda agree with scarlet_poppie. This movie had some decent ideas but Guy Ritchie absolutely failed in its execution. And the casting... Madonna as the female lead was so wrong. Even the Italian guy... not so sure about him either. You put the right cast with way better actors and less cheese and overall crap, you're looking at a pretty decent movie. But that's not what we ended up with.
Yup, wasn't half as bad as people make out. It dragged a bit here and there, but was perfectly passable - and probably Madonna's best acting thus far...
