Sonic&Knuckles+Sonic 3 equaled ultimate power for all three characters. If Sonic and Knuckles grabbed all 7 Chaos Emeralds, both would be able to transform into their "Super" forms. Afterwards, Sonic and Knuckles would be able to transform into their "Hyper" forms [basically you were in a "Super" form with trailing shadows of yourself] after they found the Hyper Emeralds [larger versions of the Chaos Emeralds]. "Tails" finally had a "Super" form, too. If he collected all the Emeralds, including the 7 Chaos and the 7 Hyper Emeralds, he would become Super "Tails". Super "Tails" was basically the same with one exception; whenever he went "Super", four Flickies would encircle him and would attack any enemy onscreen. This was truly an awesome ability to have.

LOL nice. 1 little error though. When you are hyper with sonic, you can zoom anywhere on the screen dpending where you point on the d pad. And they are giant emeralds, not hyper. Just though i'd add that in...

I can never actually get Tails to be Super Tails, cuz I never actually passed the mid level of Carnival Night act 2. when you have to bounce your way down.

It took me a year to figure it out when I first got the game...you only have to jump once then press up and down fast while standing on that bouncy carnivally thing

Also, you don't have to jump on the spinning top, you can just begin pressing up and down.

Oh god the memories. I remember when my ultimate quest of get Super Tails was finnaly over. My friend slept round, but i got up uber early cuz I was so excited to finish getting the last emerald. However when I finally got it, and got super tails, I accidently yanked the controller towards me a bit, and it came out of the Mega Drive, thus crashing the game and corrupting that save file, so I lost Super Tails!

Coincidently, that was the exact morning that Princess Diana was killed in the car crash in France, wierd huh.

I remember that carnival level zone 2 that part use to piss me off proper when i was little about 12 years old i use to start crying sometimes playing that part. But then i had a dream i passed that part and you know what that dream became true

I LOVED being Hyper Sonic all the time. He TOTALLY pwns!!!!! Looks so cool (multi coloured) and the trails and is fast as hell. When knuckles goes hyper he looks well scary (when he transforms) you can see his teeth and believe me they r sharp. Looks like he's gonna maul someone LOL. But yh, i was never super tails tho. Looks like a pussy and a twat.
