Similar movies/shows

I would recommend the new anime Jigoku Shoujo (a.k.a Hell Girl). I've watched the first three episodes, and I like it quite a bit. It reminds me of a horror Confidential Confessions.

As well, Kosetsu Hyaku Monogatari (a.k.a. Requiem For the Darkness) is a good horror anime too, but it uses Japanese legends as the basis for horror, so being familiar with those might help enhance the enjoyment of the series (although I love it and am not familiar with Japanese legends at all)

We would recommend Descendants of Darkness-a 13 episode anime with a dark feel to it. Monsters, mutilations and madmen (Oh,my). How many other animes can squeeze in tarot cards, vampires, deals with the devil, a poker game and various shikigami into thirteen episodes? Oh, plus vague hints of yaoi goodness for the fangirl in all of us. ((A 'haunting spell,' my a$$! That boy was getting raped! That was no spell!))--thanks to Jenn for that unforgettable little quote!
