The best soundtrack, ever.

"Run" alone is the most exhilarating, heartbreaking, and inspiring 3 minutes of instrumental music I've heard in my life. Then there's "Vertical Storm," all of Chiyoko's themes, and "Rotation (LOTUS-2)" renders a lump in my throat without fail.
It's absolutely sublime.

Susumu Hirasawa is a master. Try his other OSTs too and definitely try his solo work as well (he's quickly become my favourite artist).

Indeed, he's THE Susumu of all Susumus!
His lyrics are surrealistic and he speaks through images (and of course, sound!). The guy is really something else, every bit of his music is an experience.
Plus, I heard the film was actually based on his music. Satoshi had always been a big fan of Hirasawa and he asked him to compose the music that would inspire the story of Millennium Actress. That's why there are references in the film from Hirasawa's work, like the Lotus.

I think Hirasawa's music is very cinematic and could be effectively used in live-action films too.

I Sympathize with Lars Von Trier.

The music is really amazing, made an already great movie even greater!
