Ending to Max Payne 1

I liked the ending though for me took several goes to get it just right. It's the aiming for that second rope that got me. Anyway shot that off, hit the radio tower and BOOM! no more Nicole Horne......

But I'm wondering would have been better to have had a shootout with her as the finale? I felt like "Oh tower falls on her chopper she dies" and just sat back and watched... How do I put this, my feelingas after such a long game play and then you just settle back to a cinematic and not one final battle with the big bad evil dower themselves?

The fact that shes an old hag who probably wouldnt be good in a shootout is probably why they didnt do one. I love the ending cause its a chain reaction instead of a direct killing. Shooting the two guywires and then the tower just adds to how clever it is in how she dies,as the tower falls ontop of her helicopter as they are about to depart. I think it has more of a personal approach to it,I mean one way or another, he was gonna kill Nicole Horne regardless. In Max Payne 2, the same thing happens however he shoots Vlad right after, which is more of what you wanted. All in all, it still was a great ending, to one of the best games I've ever played.
