I've seen copies of this film for sale lately but as an import from Mexico and without English subtitles.
I was lucky enough to see this film at the Philadelphia Film Festival, and was wondering if anyone knew about plans to bring this film to DVD in the United States? Cheers.
I just bought this dvd on PAL Region 2 format from an American mail order website that sells foreign dvd's www.diabolikdvd.com
I just got done watching it. Although there are no plans of an American release that I know of, you can watch this if you buy an all region dvd player.
Although the language is Spanish, there are english subtitles!
TONS of extras too, but unfortunately no subtitles are available for the extras. Some of the extras include "the making of..." and interviews with both directors and actors also.
I think the film was good, but very slow. i wished it would have moved a little faster.
My only complaint about the dvd is that it is not letterboxed and the sides are cut off as the credits reveal since you can only see part of the words.
The subtitles though are NOT cut off.
A beautiful job was done with the dvd. Just needs to be letterboxed and have subtitles for the extras.
Sadly this extraordinary "docufiction film" (can't find a better term to describe it) haven't been released with english/french subtitles, at least not in R1 and R4.
