they employed Edward Asner why not use him for J3

I got a spiderman bug and started watching all the cartoons on netflix and when I got to the 2003 mtv series I noticed a nobody cop had the same voice as J3 from the 90s animated series why did they not use edward asner for J3? they used somebody else even know they were employing Edward Asner for the voice of some cop on the show???? bad casting on that one mtv
