any chance of this coming back :(

I really missed the boat on this show, but after seeing the first 4 eps on sci fi, its freaking awesome.

The show was originally made and aired on Showtime.

Had it been aired on Sci-Fi Network or some other Network it would have had the potential to be seen by a lot more people.

From the 4 episodes I have seen, this is what I call a ‘Smart show’, in that it makes you think outside of the box.

‘Smart Shows’ are not very popular with the general population.

The average Jane and Joe American works 8 to 12 hours at one or two jobs. Puts the kids to bed and veg out on the couch watching some TV till they have to go to bed and start the whole thing again tomorrow. There just to tired and burn out from there long day to have to think while there watching TV for the last few waking hours of there day. That is why reality shows and mind less TV shows are so popular now days during prime time.

I’m sure all of us can come up with a list of ‘Smart Shows’ that were canceled by the Networks. Not because they were not good shows. But more to the fact that Americans are over worked and to tired by prime time to have to think and fallow a show.

Do not miss understand my remarks. I am in now way saying Americans are uneducated or dumb. Just that by 9pm they are worn out from work, taking care of the house and the family to have to think outside of the box for a TV show.

Yeah but around the 2002-2004 timeline. Even today's "so called" smart shows aren't really. They are just trying to be. Especially these huge blockbuster looking shows on the majors. They just didn't get that a low budget show could be great. JMS has proven too many times you can to a smart low budget series.

i found this series on Netflix last year. it only gets better! the second season definitely has more of spiritual side to it, and powerful. so true about networks dumming down recent shows. then again i guess thats history. a if only shows like this and Jericho could expanded more. at the very least, you get 2 powerful seasons of thoughtful television. its great sci-fi channel brought this show back for a new crew of watchers. it would be nice if Jeremiah season 2 would come on dvd. it is on netflix for instant viewing. the only prob is that the sound is not perfect quality

I hope there is some kind of an effort to bring it back.

Where I live not only does sci fi show it, but 3 other channels recently started showing 1 episode per week, twice a week. Like right now its on mywdc tv at noon on sat o.0 And another channel shows it on thursday and another shows it on friday and all of them repeat it atleast once during the week.

It's a damn shame that this series didn't continue...One of my personal favorites...

He was making a movie called 'Stab'...he was stabbed.

I loved this too! I didnt get to see it when it first came out. I didnt have showtime then...

I wish they would bring it back. I am one American who hates the fact that television is so DUMB! I want to think and look forward to a program that is action packed, and well meaning. I loved the direction the story went in during season 2. IT was hearfelt and I loved the charactor of Mr. Smith! Sean Astin is so much fun!! I adored how human and just downright educated Kurdy became. He grew so much by the end. The show grew to a new level and we lost it all.

The ending quote to the movie was WOW! It was just downright inspirational!

Beautiful job to the writers and actors and all involved with the story. I just miss this so badly. I would love to see it comeback as I have said before. "5 Years Later..." So you can't get all the origional actors back... start it out with "5 Years Later" You really could make that fly!

I miss Jeremiah!!!

I don't think so. If a show doesn't get more than 2 series then it isn't considered a success. And the time gap between then and now has been too great.

Even Futurama hasn't come back and that has now become a relative success albeit only after several repeats. I don't count the movie :)

The problem is that Showtime's new management decided they didn't want to do sci-fi shows anymore. Sucks. Around this time Stargate SG-1, PTL ended up on Sci-Fi (now SYFY) while Odyssey 5 and Jeremiah were just nixed. Sucks. I think Jeremiah would have done well on sci-fi. I think Jeremiah would have done well on TNT (too bad they pissed JMS off) or USA especially today.

With shows like Falling Skies being popular on TNT
