Interesting Film

I saw this film by accident thinking it was going to be something else and I must say I'm glad I did. I'm pretty sure it doesn't represent all of what Bucharest is, but the aspects the film displays are powerful and sad all at the same time. This film seemed less like a story and more like a message about the poverty and struggle that occurred (and may still be occurring) in Bucharest. I will admit I knew absolutely nothing about Romania before this film and I think that is why Fitzgerald chose it as a backdrop. Perhaps this was a subject of particular interest to him and he wanted to shed some light on it for the public to see. This is just my opinion, however. The film was well done and I'd see it again.
