I take it there are 2 cuts of this movie, one shown in thailand in its orginal release, and one done by Coppola for the US release.
Can anyone tell me what the major diffrences are? What do you think is the better version?
I want to get this on DVD but i want to know more about the longer cut.
the longer cut was completely difficult to watch so confusing so boring but i haven't watch the coppolar's cut so i didnt know does it different or not.
shareWhy on earth do they get western directors/producers to edit other directors' movies. They should leave well enough alone. This happens way too often. Look what happened to "Shaolin Soccer", "Musa: The Warrior", "Ong-Bak", "Volcano High" etc. when western studios get their hands on Asian releases.
shareGet the long version. It is the closest to the way the film was intended (disregarding how reportedly it was originally going to be a mini-series). It has alot of political intrigue and a lot of dialogue, but that brings with it much more depth to the characters and situation. If you are not part of the "Attention Deficit Generation" bred by Hollow-wood, you can't go wrong with the REAL version.
shareThe original was 8 hours long, correct? That's hardly "attention deficit." Unless you watch it in 4 parts or something.
