Soundtrack?

I loved the songs in this movie. There was one song in particular that was played twice - once in the mushrooms scene at the cottage, and again at the end. Does anyone know what the song is?

Thanks!

The song that played twice was "Sundance" by a Montreal musician called James Woods. His band is called Willow. They have yet to release an album, but rumor has it that they will do it soon. All the musicians were from Montreal. The DVD will be available on the 14th of September, 2004. Check out www.philms.tv for more info. Glad you liked the film. Cheers, Phil Price

Hey John,

We wanted to release the soundtrack but unfortunatley don't have the money for it. A lot of the stuff is available on various lables artists such as: Jaffa, Paul Craganello, Tiga, YRDM, Fred Everything, Chromeo, Bran Van 300, DJ Element, Les Jardinieres, The Whereabouts, it just takes a bit of digging. The really great music however is much more difficult to find. The "Sundance" song during the mushroom trip is by James Woods and its a buddy of mine that actually starred in and provided 3 songs for my last film "Hatley High". He's in the process of trying to sign a record deal but its always a slow process. Same goes for the music of the real Shane Murphy who is an actual musician and another friend of mine in Montreal. Hopefully, they'll break soon. I'm putting their music in my next movie which will definitely have a releasable soundtrack. maybe, I'll include bonus tracks of the best tunes from my past movies.

Take care,

Phil Price

Is there anywhere I can download mp3's of Shane Murphy. I think hes amazing and ever since I saw the movie around 2 years ago I've been looking for his music, and I finally find this site telling me he doesn't have any albums! I'm not ready to give up. Please help me.

I can help you get Shane's music if you want. Email me at [email protected]. Thanks, Phil Price

I agree, most excellent music in this movie. I think that's one of the things I enjoyed most about the movie - how the use of music greatly enhanced the mood and moment of each scene.

Phil - consider this one more signature in the growing petition for a soundtrack release! kudos on a great movie (and kudos to Bravo for showing it, I caught it by fluke)

Hi, I loved this movie and the soundtrack too! I thought it was extremely clever and real; although, I didn't want Miller to get back with his girlfriend, I liked the TA, HA! And...Like these other people, I WANT THE SOUNDTRACK TOO! Because there is none, are the songs in the movie out on any CD out there that I can buy??? I liked the last song with the credits rolling, and it was also in the cartoon driving shots, and the song played second to last, and the guy who sang all those blues songs. I really liked the whole soundtrack, but those stood out to me at this moment! I really though the 2 man actors were very good too, especially Joe cobden.
You did a great job, I liked the cinemotogrophy, the writing, and how well it was relatable, and the characters were all awesome! I'm gonna check out the itunes store, but Im doubting they will have these cool songs.
Email me back info: [email protected]

Hey Phil, I was just wondering if it was possible for you to list the songs that were in your movie. As all of these people have said, i adored the movie and the music. I know it's a long shot but maybe if i knew what titles and artists to look for i could find the songs! Soundtrack please!!! Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I love the soundtrack too. We didn't have the bread to make a full soundtrack and release it (we are talking low-budget movie here). The artists are all from Montreal, Canada. Some a released artists and others are friends of mine that I did music videos for, or just flat out buddies. The musicians in Summer were the following: Shane Murphy (www.behaviormusic.com/shane_murphy/music.htm) this is the site for the real Shane Murphy, upon which the character was based. then there is james A. Woods, who has yet to release an album. He's also from Montreal. The other artists who have actuaally had music released/albums out are the following: Tiga, Fred Everything, Chromeo, Les Jardinieres, YRDM, Bran Van 3000, The Whereabouts, DJ Element, Paul Craganello, and Jaffa. Good luck i know alot of the best songs aren't easy to find.

Best,

Hey Everyone

Thanks for all the info on the music!! I was just watching the movie (again) because i might be obsessed and i noticed another good song that i hadn't been able to find yet. One of the lines in it is " two drama kids" i think.. anyway if anyone knows the rest of that song or what it is it would be great! it plays right after miller leaves ella's house after he's told her about his night with the T.A.
thanks!

That song, which is by far my favorite tune in the entire film is called "Call" by James A. Woods, he also performed "Sundance" which plays during the mushroom trip scene and at the end of the film. He is also an actor and was in my second film "Hatley High" in which he performs 3 different songs in that as well. He may be releasing an album in the fall but he doesn't have any label behind him...yet. One day when I'm rich and famous I'll make sure a soundtrack for all my movies are released and that everyone that posted here will get a free copy.

All the best,

Phil

Hi there,
I was woke up by a song that was playing at about 5:30 am and I am wondering what the name and artist was. It was just before Karen Cliche steps up for her "stupid bitch" scene. I ended up watching the movie from that point and now I hope HMV has it in store for my drive over today. Hope you can help me out with this song...for that matter from what I have read here, I would probably like to track down the likes of the soundtrack..

Thank you,
Layne
