Noe And Kubrick...?

First off, I think this is a TREMENDOUS movie, and hats off to Gaspar Noe and all for bringing it to the screen! What I find so hard to believe is it's only 3 years after from Eyes Wide Shut, and all the prude griping Kubrick had to endure over a few scenes. It's as if Gaspar went out of his way to show what Eyes Wide Shut could have, and maybe should have been. And the 2001 poster in his movie made me laugh out loud - though it completely fits with everything. It's too bad Stan had to die so soon, as I'd love to hear his take on this. But being such a fan of Stanley's over the years, I think it's safe to say he'd be damn proud of Gaspar Noe for this movie!

That's quite a statement. How can you even mention both directors in the same sentence. Noe is a hack compared to Kubrick. Eyes wide shut was a masterpiece and is still as relevant as ever. Noe received no backlash over his film because nobody cares and this film is pretty much trash. The rape scene might as well be the only scene that's all its known for. What eyes wide shut could have been?? Are you a crackhead? You are out of touch to say the least. Stanley's films meant something, they were all master works of art. Noe isn't fit to lick Stanley's bootheal.
Now go sit on timeout and rethink your life. Stop beating off to the rape scene you fart sack.

Please stop throwing around words you don't understand.

Hack - A person, as an artist or writer, who exploits, for money, his or her creative ability or training in the production of dull, unimaginative, and trite work; one who produces banal and mediocre work in the hope of gaining commercial success in the arts: As a painter, he was little more than a hack.

"Eyes Wide Shut was a masterpiece"

As much as I love that movie, it is NOT considered a masterpiece by critics or most of the general audience. They consider it Kubrick going out on a low note and most people wonder how it would have ended up if he was a live just a little longer. Stop making *beep* up.

"Noe received no backlash over his film because nobody cares"

This movie is considered one of the most shocking films ever made. Yes, people care. Stop posting.

" The rape scene might as well be the only scene that's all its known for."

Many films are known for a single scene or two. Legendary films. Again, please, you have got to stop already.

Not even going to address the rest of your babble. Deactivate.

I'd never put any Filmmaker on Kubricks Level but what I will give Noe is his FEARLESSNESS as a Director, which has lead to some incredible films. No, they aren't perfect but he knows how to hit a certain emotional level in the Viewer that's not easy to do. I get crap for enjoying 'Love' from friends of mine... Personally, I think it's the most honest portrayal of LUST Vs LOVE and the reactions it can cause. I've gone into detail on that board but needless to say, I've had sexual experiences of all types in my 32 years and 'Love' gets to the bare bones of it all. It pushes our boundaries. Questions what we consider "Normal" and how far we are willing to go. The opening scene of 'Love' put me in a place where I didn't know what to expect. Noe has done that in all of his work... Including 'Irreversible'... He's not Kubrick but his influence is all over his work.
