I give it a 100% good movie rating. Although it isn't suitable for all ages, the adult age-group is entranced by the magnificant acting and plots.

good movie :) can't believe it was a telefilm, and can't believe it was made in 2002, it has a really old feel to it [duh it's based in the 80's] so kudos to the director for really getting it right. uma and juliette were brilliant.

Even though it was sometimes sad and painful to watch I think it's a really good movie! The hairstyles were dead on and I had flashbacks from high school....Aqua Net hairspray rocks!

amazing!!! love the acting done by juliette and uma!! i cried, i laughed, it was brilliant! i really dont see how this movie is white trash(some people have said it is) i mean yeah they went looking for guys, but they seemed pretty normal to me

10/10 rating!

Yes, it was a great movie and Though Uma and Juliette were cast wonderfully, so was Gena Rowlands...she's always brilliant!

I found it to be very realistic. It was the 80's and prior to the public announcment of the AIDS virus, a lot of people went out to the bars like that.

I'm not sure why this thread is titled Good Movie/Bad Movie, because I didn't see anything bad about it. It is extremely well acted, and it skillfully uses '80s styles and songs without hitting us over the head with them.

As for the previous poster who said AIDS wasn't a concern when this film takes place, "Hysterical Blindness" was set in 1987, when HIV was widespread.

to the one who said "shame this is a telefilm"

When movies are shot for premium cable in the U.S, they are shot with theatrical quality, but released on television because that is where theyl most likely get best viewership. They are treated with a lot respect unlike mainstream stuff. That's one thing HBO is famous for; great movies!

This is a good movie! It made me want to go crawl in bed with my mom & have a good cry too! I think all woman know what it's like to "chase" after a man that doesn't want what you want.

I thought it was a quality movie based on the acting, writing and directing. And I liked the way the characters tawked because I am a Jersey Boy from exit 153A. FUGGETABOUTIT!

There is one small point I would like to share. In New Jersey we call our big amusement park in Jackson Township GREAT ADVENTURE. We don't call it Six Flags even though it is part of that corporation. I guess they wanted all 50 states to know what they were tawking about in that scene.

I love this movie. These ladies did a great job with each of their roles. Especially Uma. Juliette is my all time fave and Uma just knocked it out of the park!
