$1.99 on the 'cutout' shelf
and worth every penny! (lol)
once i was done watching this trashy, doubtlessly made-for-video epic, i couldn't help thinking, "man, i might never have seen this one on any cable channel...ever..." and was pleased that i plopped down my two bucks to own it on dvd. :-P
in the other thread, the commentor alludes to how much janet kidder looks like her sister, margot. they weren't kidding (no pun intended)...except for the fact that margot usually wears her black hair long, and is decidedly more bosomy than janet, they look and sound alike. that's interesting, considering that "dark side" is a movie about twin sisters, and considering that margot starred in a low-end brian de palma thriller called "sisters" way back in 1973.
the movie is really only worth watching for janet kidder. i like patsy kensit; but she's a mere appendage in this story, which - as you might expect - trots out all the genre cliches along the way to its predictable conclusion. the twist at the end is "twistier" than most; but not enough for me to recommend spending more than $2 on this...as i said, it was worth every penny of the $1.99 i purchased it for ;-)
