Is Sesshomaru an Anti-Villain or Anti-Hero?

It's hard to tell what he is in hero or villain status. I think what happen was, that Sesshomaru, started out as a full villain, then as the show progressed and met Rin he then started to become an anti-villain and by the time of the Final Act series he became an anti-hero.

Inuyasha, I know started out as an anti-hero, but became a full hero as the show progressed.

Anti-hero - he is Inuyasha's foil.

I'd say he is a full villain at first because he wants InuYasha's sword. But he is really an Anti-Hero even if he never admits to any compassion. It isn't long before he decides he wants to kill Naraku, as well as showing up saving the lives of people such as Kagome or Rin.

He never struck me as a villain the first episode he appeared he seemed like an anti hero and after watching the rest of series he is definitely an anti hero. His character is my favorite :)

He's one of my favorites too. Characters like Sesshoumaru are always the best in shows like this because they're the most complex and show the most character development. Characters that are pure good or pure evil are less interesting because they have less growth.
