Thoroughly annoyed with

The imagery of Black women in this film. A guy I'm dating wanted me to watch this with him last night. The opening scene? A fat Black woman stuffing her face with potato chips. Oh wait that's not enough to drive the image home. She then ends a phone call with "I'm a fat Black woman!" Then enter all the beautiful, sexually appealing, well intentioned, intelligent or damaged white women for the remainder of the film. As a Black female viewer my first thought was "who wrote this *beep*

I enjoyed the story but to have the only Black woman in the actual movie plot with lines to open the movie with her Mamie like behavior and admission of fat laziness was just a slap in the face. Anyway. I'll hope off my soap box since I'm sure the majority of viewers didn't even notice that or care.
