For those who know the ending:

If Gale was willing to die for this anti-capital punishment cause, why get a reporter interested in proving his innocence BEFORE his execution??

Bitsey very nearly ruined his plan to die for this cause. Both Gale and Dusty helped her every step of the way to figuring out the truth. Gale reached out to Bitsey for help proving his innocence. Dusty drew attention to himself by tailing her. Gale told her who was tailing her. Dusty even gave her the first teaser tape to set her into action. And she nearly stopped the execution because of this.

Why didn't they just wait till after the execution, to get the tape into the public domain?? They nearly ruined their own plan!!

1) to generate $500,000 to give to his son
2) to be able to tell his side of the story about the rape allegations to a wide audiance.
