Is it going to be on this year?

Does anybody know if the extended version of this movie is going to be showing on Disney Channel or anywhere this year? I just can't figure out why they never show it on TV and they don't put it out on DVD because nobody's winning when nobody can see it because they're not making any money off of it either way.

I think probably Disney is trying to distance themselves from scary Halloween stuff. Not only because they are trying to promote their Halloween in their theme parks as fun instead of scary, and super family oriented, but also because of religious reasons. They don't want to be associated with promoting anything of "the occult," or anything with evil witches or Satan. I think it's just stupid, thy could make SO MUCH money by selling this on DVD! I know of many many people are wishing they'd release these movies on DVD. They have already released the Disney Valentine's special and the Disney Christmas special, but not the Halloween one. I sadly lost my original recorded copy of this (from about 1985 on VHS) and have been scouring every place that sells DVD's for it. I finally found someone who's selling it on YouTube. I don't think Disney will ever release it. It is too scary, (it scared me as a kid,) and has Satan, scary ghosts and witches. It's just like the Black Cauldren, which I hear Disney is also "ashamed" of because it has "the dark prince" in it. I don't think they'll ever show it again, especially in this hyper-sensitive, super over protective society. Some dumb soccer mom would probably sue Disney because it scared their kid too much. Funny, it lasted so long on the Disney channel and was a beloved tradition, and so many people have such great memories of it. Too bad younger generations will miss out on it.

Disney made cartoons with Nazis, they had killer animals and gangsters with bombs and killer crocodiles in their films, where in the hell do they suddenly get off being a bunch of pussy-footing politically corrected up wussies?

The last time I saw this was back in 1997.
