shareI believe you may be thinking about the '80s "clip" film Terror in the Aisles. It starred Donald Pleasence and Nancy Allen, who were shown sitting in a movie theater, offering commentary on horror/suspense films (why people go to see them, common themes in them, etc.). There was a clip shown in Aisles, near the end if I remember right, from the horror/comedy film Saturday the 14th. It's a clip of the teenage daughter taking a bath, while a Gill Man-like monster with a big headfin surfaces in the bathtub at her feet. That may be the clip you're talking about.
