Biblical references?

SPOILERS

A child conceived without a father (yes, she has one, but her mother won't find out for quite a while.

A child with a miraculous powers

A child with incredible wisdom and knowledge; and some sort of message

A child whose destiny has been written. For a while wishes she could be just a
normal child but finally accepts her destiny. And the destiny is leaving her family, humans and Earth behind to ascent to the heavens.

Maybe is just me....

Anyway, good, actually very good first few episodes. As the series reaches the 80's - 90's you might as well just fast forward to the last ten minutes. Big disappointment. Also, the actors, it feels like the use all the good ones at the start and then run out of money.

Anyone else thinks the same?

I agree about the biblical references. Also the child becomes a sort of saviour for the abductees & teaches others to forgive. I disagree however, about skipping most of the 80's & 90's chapters. While I too prefer the earlier chapters, I like the later ones also & feel they are important to understanding the entire story. Two examples:
1)If you skip most of the latter stuff, you miss where she teaches forgivesness through example
2)You will also miss her display her power to heal

I also agree with the biblical references (my intention when coming to this board was the post the same observation) and disagree with skipping through the 80's and 90's portions of the show.

I believe the entire show was pretty amazing and is quite possibly my favorite mini (or maxi?) series of all time. I really wish more people would see it.

I hadn't really thought about that scene but you're right. The Dolphins were even arranged in the same way you often see the three kings arranged around the manger in nativity scenes

If you skip most of the 1990's stuff, you'd miss 'John' and Dr. Wakeman explaining what the Aliens are and why they were there. I quite like the later episodes where the humans think they're catching up.

Jesus, AS A CHILD, didn't have magical powers. The adult Jesus had the powers.
