qt: Ending

the serial killer, D, the Red Dragon does not shoot himself in the head as the viewers are made to believe..

After seeing the FBI at his work, he knows its a matter of time before getting caught, he goes to Reba's house. At reba's house he sees the other guy she works with taking her home, he gets enraged and kills him when she closes the door.

He then kidnaps reba, and puts the other guy in his van (the putting of the other guy in the van is not shown on screen).

The next scene is at D's house where we see him with a gun and about to kill Reba.. he sets his house on fire.. and has an internal struggle with the red dragon who is forcing him to kill reba.. he has reba (who is blind) touch the gun so she knows what he is holdng. She cannot shoot reba.

On screen all we see is reba's reactions who hears a gun shot and blood splattering on her face.. we (the viewers) and reba assume D shoots himself.. however it is the blood of the guy he already killed earlier at reba's house.

when the FBI get to the house.. the house is fully engulfed in fire and Reba is running out thinking that D shot himself.. she even felt the bloodied face.. (not knowing it wasn't D). Before the FBI clear the house.. D escapes without anyone realizing (viewers inluded)

After a week or two while Will is at home in FLA with his family thinking all the loose ends were tied up.. D (who got the home address from lecture) goes to his house and snatches will's kid.. before the ending of the shootout between Will and wife vs D..
